PEX tubing is the most preferred type of tubes used for plumbing and heating applications. It is obtainable in various forms depending on its manufacturing. These tubes are manufactured differently in order to serve multiple applications effectively. The classification of these tubes is also made on basis of material with which they are made and on type of applications served by them.

Type 1 – PEX – a

This type of PEX pipe is manufactured according to the ‘Engel Methodology’. In this tube, the cross linking is crafted above the melting point of crystal. This supplies more uniform and consistent cross linkage to entire tube. This process but takes much longer time to get completed and is little expensive in comparison to methodologies employed for crafting other forms of PEX.

Type 2 – PEX – b

This is category ‘b’ PEX pipe which is formed through method of silane. In this method the cross linking are mad between PEX with help of powerful cross linking agents. In order to quicken up the process, moisture and heat is used. Using such agents not only increases the completion time of process but also makes it quite simple and cheap.

Type 3 – PEX – c

This form of PEX tube is formed through process of electron beaming. The cross linking within the pipe structure is created down to the melting point of crystal which formulates uniform and even cross linking. This is the most eco-friendly way of preparing PEX products as it does not involve any sort of chemical agents in it. No kind of harmful products are produced through this methodology. This is one of the finest forms of PEX pipes.

Type 4 – PEX – Al – PEX

This is last type of PEX pipe which is crafted with layer of aluminum sandwiched between two strong layers of PEX. The layer of aluminum within it acts as barrier to any sort of corrosion or damage caused due to oxygen or other gases. Presence of aluminum within it prevents the oxygen molecules from getting in direct contact with water. In addition to this, the aluminum also enhances the robustness of pipe and provides much better firmness to it. It is most often used in performing radiant heating applications. It is also useful for carrying all such applications which involve extreme temperature conditions.
These are therefore 4 types of PEX tubing which are designed differently and used for performing different applications.

PEX is also called cross-linked polyethylene which was first functional in US during the year 1960. It has gained a lot of attention of people and nowadays most people use it in their homes for both residential and commercial purposes. The main advantage of PEX plumbing is that it is considered to be the safest and easiest to install. PEX installation can be done either by a professional or you can do it by yourself. It can be molded or bended easily but by adding different chemicals, it can be toughened easily. It is popular these days and widely used for the purpose of plumbing in residential and commercial areas.

PEX tubing are made with the help of chemical reaction which make it extremely hard and resistible to extreme cold and hot temperatures. Installation of PEX is based upon the compression/crimp ring system. This system actually helps in creating extremely tight connections. With the help of this system, these connections are created to be leakage proof and permanent. There are different kinds of tools required to set up PEX pipes. Some of the tools may include utility knife, crimping tool, crimp fittings, tubing cutter, transition fittings, shutoff valves and copper manifolds.

Creating pipe connections

While creating a pipe connection, you need to cut and measure the tubing. Make sure not to create any burrs (that is why it is suggested to get a good cutting tool). You can cut precisely by using a good cutting tool. Improper or cheap tools often cause bad connections that may make you suffer later on. This information is provided for your knowledge. No matter whether you do it yourself or labor does it all, it is essential that you know such things. After that, place that crimp ring over piping. Now, insert that fitting in tubing to fit the shoulder. Then, you need to use crimping tool in order to compress the ring onto tubing. Make sure to keep an angle of 90 degrees and ensure a closed crimp ring.
It is essential to inspect joint work properly so that it is done correctly. There are several things which must be considered seriously. You need to consider proper crimp at each and every end of tube. Ensure that all the ribs must be covered properly. Crimp tool should be at an angle of 90 degrees and if not then it simply means that there is a dent in the pipe somewhere. So, it can be said that one needs to take special care for PEX pipe installation to get good results.

Wirsbo pex tubing is the better pipes to purchase within the market place. Moreover, these goods can be ordered on the internet, for people that don’t like traffic or standing in line in a shop.

3/4″ x 300ft PEX Tubing with Oxygen Barrier

The advantage for clients is that caused by competition three may get fantastic selling prices along with superb products.

3/4″ x 300ft OxyPex Tubing with Oxygen Barrier

There is not likely much for the PEX systems and companies which usually sell certainly as PEX tubing or some others attempt in making their item the most effective yet.

3/4″ x 500ft OxyPex Tubing with Oxygen Barrier

But yet, despite why you buy PEX pipes or accessories, purchasing good quality products is really important.

3/4″ x 1000ft OxyPex Tubing with Oxygen Barrier
One example is, like this example mentioned, when moving into a new home, if your previous owner hasn’t been inexpensive and invested towards the plumbing related installation, you might want to buy almost nothing for plumbing contractor for many years in the future.

There are many kinds of PEX plumbing supplies which have to be used while water supply pipe lines are laid. Of the many fixtures an adopter is one piece of hardware which is required. Call it an adapter, nipple or a couple the purposes they solve is the same and the only difference is in the way of attaching with the pipes. An adapter is a device of convenience to connect two different parts of the same system. Similarly a nipple and a couple do the same job. Nipple is a small piece of pipe with both ends having the male threads and a couple has female threads. An adapter is the only one which has two different attachment styles. One has the male threads which mean the threads are cut on the outer surface of the pipe and the other end has the sweat style of connection. The arm of the adapter is pushed into the pipes and secured with a clamp.

As both ends are fit into the PEX pipes only a ring like structure is visible. The adapter is made of brass and comes in many dimensions. An adapter can be found for almost all pipe sizes. the pipes have to neatly fit the adapter so that there is no leakage at the junctions. Leakages reduce the pressure in the system and the water flowing out of the taps would reduce.

PEX x male threaded adapters come in varying sizes so that they can be easily attached to a threaded system. The threaded end of the adapter is for hard pipes and the other is for the PEX pipes.

Just to mention a few of the sizes of the PEX x male threaded adapter 3 /8” PEX x 1 /2” male threaded adapter; 1 /2”x 1 /2’’ , 5 /8”x 3 /4” or the 1’’x 1’’. The different permutations and combinations available are ten in all.

As a precautionary measure the threaded side of the adapter is connected first as it is neither possible nor advisable to twist the adapter. Always use a pipe thread or a Teflon tape to act as a sealant to ensure a leak proof joint.
